Hotel Kaštel is located in the ancient Istrian town of Motovun, at the very top of a hill encircled by medieval walls, where from a height of 277m one is offered an unforgettable view of the valley of the River Mirna, the Motovun forest and surroundings of central Istria. Hotel Kaštel*** is located at top of 277 metre high hill upon which arose the medieval town of Motovun.On the highest Motovun square, surrounded by medieval walls and preserved structures of the Venetian era, one comes to the ancient town gates and the structure of the Hotel Kaštel, located in a palace from the 17th century, on the right side of the square.

Left of the hotel is the parish church of Saint Stephan with its prominent indented bell tower, across from which is the town palace.

The hotel structure which is one of the tallest buildings on the town square is an identifiable part of the overall vista of the ancient town. Every stone here tells a story that is at least 700 years old.
